I'm trying to understand your logic Luke but I'm having trouble. I think where I'm losing you is when your passion for what you love gets blinded by a shops responsibility to itself. I appreciate your position Luke and I wish you ball the best of luck in your upcoming soundoffs.

Where's the disconnect? Keith, a shop owner, has discovered that involvment in competition does indeed have real benefits, even if they may not be immediate.

The only unfortunate thing is that other dealers are either too myopic or lazy to do the same.

It sounds like other promoting shops havent seen the benefits that Kieth has, for this, i imagine there can be many reasons beyond the two you mentioned. It seems Kieth has seen unusal benefits from having soundoff's and im sure he will continue to see benenfits where others havent.

why such a negitive nellie??? shows happen because someone linked to a shop is a die-hard and wants newcomers to experience the thrill of competing. nobody throws a show to make money. in fact very few break even. but they continue to try to the enjoyment of the sport. keith has worked hard on his shows to make it so he doesn't lose his shirt, and his shows are alot of fun. It's ALOT of work though. there are alot of people that want to put on a show, but burn themselves out trying to please everyone, just to get a bunch of negitivity in the end, so they stop doing it. places like visions, future shop, car toys, etc used to have a budget to throw amazing shows back in theday. now all the major companies are trying to minimize spending and maximize profit, so the show budget gets chopped. this means if the world of 12 volt compititions is to continue, the little guy from down the stree with little to no overhead has to step up and fill the shoes of a big box stores large wallet. all I can say to you my friend, is to come on out and support the local shops in your area that are going out of their way to put on a show in 2012, compete, have a hot dog, see some sweet rides, and hear some deafening stereos. Have fun. enjoy it while it lasts, and try to make it last as long as possible, because one day it will be gone......
