look up termlab . that is the device used to record spl levels and the device used by every sound off org in the world , mr harris created that so anytime somone buys a termlab hes making 600 plus , he also owns db drag racing so anytime somone puts on a show he makes a minimum of 100 to 1000 bucks off them , theres thousands of shows yearly across the world so you can imagine how much money he makes , keiths shop brings in a ton of competitors and buisness from the soundoffs he displays his shops work at shows and brings in buisness hes a classy guy , without keith and his shop there wouldnt be a car audio community

So Wayne Harris owns the business and makes plenty of profit with fees and Termlabs, and the shops that host and promote his events make little or no money directly from the sound offs? im sure im not misunderstanding what youve said. Why would anyone do Wayne Harris sound offs? im a little confused, cant you just do termlab soundoffs without all the fee's? it sounds like you can just buy a termlab and charge the people competing less and probobly have more soundoffs, or am i again misunderstanding? Sorry for all the questions?

it comes down to competing at a high level , db drag racing is known around the world , its the format eveyone chooses and if your a real competitor you want to make world finals , every org use termlab so therefor pay money to db drag , doing your own backyard show is just lame and dosnt get you respect on the world stage , or gives u zero word rankings

myself and one other competitor , without keiths shows or his efforts there wont even be an option to compete , keiths shows our also iasca , iasca finals are in florida so i will never make it to iasca finals , db drag has multiple locations , you have to realize this is a hobby, this is not the buisness

Im sorry luke and mean no offence, but it really is a business. Wayne has his business, Keith has his business. These business cant survive without profit, assuming that most sound off promoting shop owners arent independantly wealthy outside of their car audio retails stores that is. If only 2 people need termlab points, why waste hunderes of dollars, thousand i suppose if you have multiple shows, to appeal to only 2 people who need points?

a shop sells car audio and accesseries ,wayne harris sells termlabs , and entry fees for his buisness , sound offs are not a buisness their a hobby , western canada has very few competitors , this is the reason why will and myself have to travel 10 hrs plus to find extra events , keith puts on shows because he loves to compete and loves to show off the workmenship of his shop , soundoffs and competing are a way of life for many individuals including myself , im a rep for 3 differnt companys i make a few extra dollors doing that , i try to get as many individuals as i can into the lanes for shows , the only way you can grow somthing is giving back to it , competing brings me joy and many other people joy do i care that i dont make money off competing > ? no , its somthing we do for fun , when keith puts on shows he draws customers in because of the quality of his work and shows people he gives back to the customers and the die hard guys , thats what a real shop does , just because shops dont make thousands of dollors off a show doesnt make them loosing they gain in the end with gaining respect in the community , and showing off their work

you need to go to an event and have some fun to seee that not everything revolves around money

Keith, it sounds like you would be a sucess with or without sound offs, you seem to have a passion for what you do and a good business sense. it also sounds like you are the only one doing these shows and that must be nice as well, no competition
I really want competition. If I'm the only one doing them, they'll get stale. It needs a different flavour. Others need to put them on to allow it to flourish.
Thank you for the compliments.

theirs a few that host shows , , i usually host one show a year out of my pocket , the problem is the average shop that sells low end does a show , they bring their cars and their clients cars , great this is what we want , most of the cars who come will have high end gear that theese lower end shops dont sell , their cars and customers cars get spanked , so in the future their more hesitant to host shows because they dont seee a gain from it , the thing now is iasca and db drag now have more competitor friendly classes that will allow the small guy to have a better chance , keiths shop also sells high end equipment (digital designs ) , (hybrid audio ) which allow them to be among the best in north america in their cars , it all comes down to what the shop putting on the show can get back out of it
