Example,

Amplifier rated power - 10k rms
3 subs, rated at 1500 rms each - 4500 rms total

actual power produced after rise and voltage drop - 6200 rms

excess power ratio - 6200/4500 = 1.4 times

it also depends on the sub. some subs will handle double the rated power and some will break as soon as you go a hair over their rated power.

I'm a "no-wall" and going to compete in Bassrace. I've got a thread up right now to see if I can find a way to make this JBL BPx2200.1 work in my favor without killing one or all or my subs at the comp.

 

your set up doesnt fall under "no wall". No Wall is a class. You fall under Street C with your set up I believe. Which is still all good for bass race.
