Reading this story i must tell you my own similar one, earlier this summer i had to get rid of my dog, had him for 4 years since he was 3 weeks old, greatest guy ever so friendly, energetic and put a smile on my face, he was also a hunting dog so he barked, a lot, i don't care cause i'm used to it since i've had dogs all my life, we one day we had some police come to our house around 7 at night because they received a complaint about the barking and aparently someone said we were abusive to the guy, we showed them where he was kept, he had a huge pen around 180 sq. ft. and a dog house fully carpeted and heated during the winter, after that they left seeing that he was kept better than a lot of humans.
2 weeks later we get a letter from the city of toronto animal services, yes animal services not even the police, saying we would get fined for $5000 because of excess barking. Well $5000 is a lot of money and really couldn't afford to pay if they would fine us so we had to give up the guy to them.

I was profusely pissed off so to make the complainers more mad I rigged up some old home theater speakers and my old yamaha amp and a cd player and on a timer every night at 3 am i would play a cd with loud dog barking, and kept it going every night to about just before October.

So as the above poster said for the piezo sirens, I highly recommend you do it just to **** the hell out of them! Everyone has their right to a barking dog or to an alarm that chirps!

most cities have by-laws against barking dogs, AND car alarms, but I am pissed because I am within my rights AND STILL being harrassed. I don't want to do things that would just get me in more trouble, I just want a solution to make our neighbor stop.

We went to the police again today, and again they said their hands are tied....at least for the time being...our complaint is on record, and if anything else happens we are to call them again. The name we got is most likely a fake, but they were willing to check it out anyways. All we can do right now is continue on our daily routine and hopefully the bitching stops

Just be sure to follow the tracks of the meter reader so that you don't get caught ... Unless u have no snow there

It s the little things like that that happens to people like that or mysteriously there oilfilter Come off... If they are being a ***** a about it and won't stop I just get creative and hit there pocket book that usually makes me' feel a whole lot better

I know it's not easy, but I would try and just not let it bother you. As mentioned go about your biz and ignore it. As enjoyable getting even would be, sometimes it's not worth it. If they see it bothers you they will probably continue. If they realize it's not getting to you they might move on to someone else. Water off a duck's back.

what pisses me off is those with chirping alarms (or barking dogs) are usually the ones who are more law abiding than those who complain

hell the reason my dog barked was due to the huge amount of stary cats (which we know what house they came from) there are, but the excuse the police gave us when we counter complained was "people don't hear cats, just a barking dog" wtf is that crap, how about when they are in heat like 4 times a year, it sounds so gross!

btw i forgot to ask, what alarm did you get installed?

I used to work nights way back when I was in school, and it sucked to be woken up. but I dealt with it, because the rest of the world shouldn't have to tip-toe around because a few got the shitty end of the work stick.

if the guy doesn't like being woken up at 7am, when the rest of the world is getting ready for the day, then he should find a new job. if you're within your rights, ignore the guy.
