It sounds like a great idea, but I'd imagine there will only be a handful of vehicles that compete - all it would take to discourage the majority of average competitors from risking the $50 would be a vehicle or two with a wall.

I know of three or four people that have some loud daily drivers that will do around low to mid 40's and they are tuned to 30 hz or less so that is still good for like 190 points..

Walls don't normally go very low unless specifically designed to do so and on top of that they arent normally made to play with doors opened.

So alot of non walled vehicles would have the advantage with a low note and doing decent spl. Run the numbers yourself and you will see why theres one class.

I have personally measured many vehicles that have single/dual 10's that peak at low 30's and do 142-145 BR with doors open. Thats the beauty of the competition.

Actually, I'm doing nine 18s in the Saturn for this class; you better build that blazer accordingly!

And Don, I suppose you have a point about walls and how they perform with doors open - but take a vehicle like Kyle's explorer for example when it was tuned low... that was loud as hell no matter how you listened to it. I don't know many street vehicles that can do near a 50 tuned daily. I'm eager to see how it turns out though, here's hoping for a good turnout.

Ya I think what will probably happen is I can run it throughout the year and keep track of everyones scores keeping the entry fee for the final event payout and at the final dB Drag we have here you guys can win it all back.

I can't wait to get some demo's in the vehicles getting built for this lol

I like the prize money idea, but am unsure of the whole idea as to if it is a good or bad one. I agree and say that a $50 entry will discourage many, but the return is good if you win. the other thing I see is ALOT of "off-the-streeters" who spent their last 4 paychecks on their systems, seeing their stereo's go up in smoke from trying to hit loud, low frequencies, and be totally discouraged from spl compitition all together. Basically I can see only about 5-10 people max trying this out, and then see someone like clay, or riprock take it all away from them....lol

but really not sure just yet.......lol
