another problem i see with iasca shows is that only one vehicle is run at a time compared to dbdrags where theres obviously 2 lanes.

For larger events like Kelowna Show. dbdrag, bassrace and SQ take all day long. But now 2/3 of those cars will be running through at half speed. You might have to look into making it a 2 day even perhaps.

a 2 day event would be difficult for the competitors who are traveling a fair ways for theese events , it costs alot of money to travel to the events and then lodging alone is a killer , if the shows were hosted with 2 meters that would solve the problom

to have a pool of 15-20 judges would be nice . you would not know who it would be until that day and there can be more then 1 show in bc that day .
you might have a show in pg ,Kelowna, vancoucer and not need to get a judges form AB and WA to do it

i suppose im thinkin as far as in the future. Your kelowna shows have had pretty huge turnouts and imo were ran pretty efficiently and still took all day.

but then again im sure it might be cheaper and easier to have a competition go an extra 4 or 5 hours rather than run over a 2 day span

another option to look at is to have a quick ****-around 1x dbdrag the night before for any out of towners looking to tune or get points. I know they did this in 07 in cranny, and the gar. Im a diehard dbdrag guy but kelowna is close enough for me personally that ill go no matter if its sanctioned or not. But the albertans have a much longer drive ahead of them and could use a bit more incentive to come. Because a large western canada show without the crazy alberta guys just isnt right.

it's usually not the metering that makes a show long. in any sanction. It's usually the filler.......games, giveaways, lunch breaks, etc. db drag can be more exciting at times, because it is a head to head battle. Iasca can also be fun at times, because db draggers tend to be all about the louder score, and Iasca shows are alot less competitive. Usaci shows are also fun at times because you gan get outragously large db readings. Every sanction has it's pros and cons. if there is good coverage of all sanctions in western canada, that don't orverlap other sanction events, then everyone is happy, and has a good season. The 2009 season looks to bring alot of choice offerings to the table, with what looks like to be at least 10 shows in every sanction. I for one am truly looking forward to this, and will be out to support all 3 sanctions this year. I hope there will be others that will follow my footsteps as well...

we are lucky to be given the oppertunity to compete in all 3 sanctions , and have the oppertunity to see what each sanction brings to the table, I think being that all 3 sanctions are having so many shows the 09 season will be one of the best seasons for spl and sq in a long time
