Well, once again............I have to give my 2 cents on this topic.

I competed in IASCA for a few years. I went to many shows and hit a few World Finals.
From my experience, in the past, I will tell you this.....IASCA is a top notch organization. There are great people running it these days.
I met TONS of great people competing when I did. I learned alot from all walks of life. AND, I mean from the BEST of the BEST........to the newest of new competitors.

My advice to ANYONE that is thinking of getting into SQ shows.......DO IT! Go and enjoy yourself. I promise you that you will be glad you did. Another thing to remember, it is NOT about money. You might see the guy next to you with a TOP DOLLAR system, and might get worried or think that your car is not good enough.....WELL DONT! Cause 9 times out of 10, that guy will be a great person and will talk to you and NOT look down on you, cause you have a "Cheaper" system.
I have been SUPER scared of many TOP DOLLAR cars, and in the end....I worried for nothing. Money doesnt make a system. TRUST ME.

GO out..............GET in the lanes in 2010. You will be happy that you did. Take it from an old guy. I ALWAYS had fun.

Is there an official website with info somewhere?
other than the IASCA.com

One that pertains to canadians?

Scratch that...I went and read the iasca.com site and see that it is international.

It would take the invention of a device that can measure the accuracy of my systems reproduction to the original source of the recording. Beyond that, ain't gonna happen because it's just way too subjective.

at the end of a season from competing your scoresheets will have a consensus as to what your system is good and bad at. after you have listened to everyones car yourself i bet the ones you like are the cars that score well.

there is a ton of second hand highend audio to work with. my amps are all 5 years old from ebay and i have no problems competeing.
another reason to stay home is your choice of vehicle. pick up trucks are the hardest to get right. that excuse doesnt stop me.
everyone is afraid of something, the judging process is not one of them

Unless my system can be judged objectively, no thanks.

miracle is what it will take.

people are weak these days, everyone wants to win for just showing up. when they get to a show and see a "real" sq car they get intimidated and never come back. it's the same with SPL.

car audio as a hobby or sport has been dying for years now due to lack of support from organizations capable of providing that support e.i. big name manufacturers.

From what I hear judging has come a long way from before.

I remember driving to the US to compete in shows and have judges and organizers tell me that they would not give first place to a Canadian car.

I'd love to show up just to see what it takes to be deemed SQ. I have absolutely zero knowledge of what it takes or what's involved to have an SQ worthy car. I'd love to meet up with father yuli sometime and get an opinion on my setup ( a lot has changed since you were in my car JALAT

Father Yuli... how interested are you in meeting up? How interested are you in bringing your favorite cd or Ipod track and having a listen? Almost like a blind taste test at first where I don't tell you or show you anything, and you just have a listen?

Father Yuli judging a sysytems SQ.... WOW I want to be there for that one. Bro, if I were you... I'd choose someone who judges or competes SQ not an SPL guru but thats up to you. If I'm looking for SPL knowledge Yuli is a very knowledgeable man, if I want to know about SQ I'd talk to Fozzz, Weirdo, avidedtr, guys who compete in SQ.

Just my .02
