But my point was more-so that the easterners do things very differently than us in the west. SPL wise they seem to take it much more seriously and thus get better results. I think one of their main advantages is the testing facility that Yuli has (if he still has it)...there they can test at all hours of the night, exchange gear, enclosures and build ideas. Perhaps if guys in the west want to get loud in street this would be something to look into in the future. Split up some shop monthly shop space among 4 or 5 guys shouldnt cost too much.
I also think a few guys should combine ideas and money to build one vehicle...a team vehicle thats world class. Which in street would mean building a crx or preferrably a panda (or marbella). Since the american guys cannot get pandas or bellas thats our chance as canadians to beat them in street.
Street classes themselves are ridiculously expensive to be world class I dont think one person alone could build a killer street car in a single year and not kill their wallet. Why not build with 1 or 2 other competitors and share the fame in search of a north american or even world title.
Even in street A which is the "cheapest" street class youll need a ton of cash to be close to the #1 guys...
$300 for a battery under 650 cu inches
$250 for a charger to train the batts properly
$1200 for wire and distros. 20+runs of 1/0..copper bussbars front and rear
$800 deadener
$2000 for 2 good SPL 10s
$3000 for a single monser amp
$600 throughout the year for materials and ports
TOTAL-$8150 in setup alone plus your car, memberships, gas, accomodations, entry fees, maintenance etc

Im not using a new set up but I did a 147.x db in StreeB last year so as long as I'm a faily close to that score in the new car I will be a happy camper. I like my music so it's not a beastie burp box...lol
