Sunday June 6th Sight & Sound 2010 Scarborough!
Sorry about that! ok so yes podium finishes are the same for ASPL as they are for Show & Shine, by which I mean 1,2,3 place with a medal or trophy and some extras. Basically we called in all our sponsors for favors and see what they will throw at us, so far so good! Also every competitor will have a door prize ticket, no raffles at this event meaning better odds, and every competitor gets a raffle ticket included in the price of their entrance fee!
Ok well to help clean some things up, there is no connect to Db drag or any of its affiliates here at all! That being said Don and alike I invite you to please read our constitution online, the links can be provided though PM should you want to see them, as this thread is the not appropriate place to discuss such matters. I also ask kindly that you please inform yourself before you make accusations, the S&S team is simply trying to provide a series of shows to a market that has not seen a show like this for years. We need to bring back the comfortable fun feeling to car shows, keep the cost low, and the prizes big, thats why people come out, they come to have fun. I am not here to argue, I have put a lot of work into this show and we just want to see people have a good time.
Now to answer the A.S.P.L. questions, the fusing competition format is something that has been developed to bring a new edge of competition, to sum it up though the sum of the amp fusing ON YOUR AMPLIFIER will dictate your class for the competition, where you will have 30 seconds to play music (or tones based on class) and be loud.
more info here :
Appendix 1: A competitor is allowed to chose whatever sizes of fusing they would like to run in line on amplifier, regardless of equipment amplifier rating, cone area, sub woofer quantity, number of runs of wire, size of wiring, number of batteries, size of batteries, or any other power supply device. But all competitors must charge at 12 volts and produce such during competition. A competitor may even choose to run un fused (thus putting them in the open un fused class).
Appendix 2: There are NO restrictions on equipment, brand of equipment, number of amplifiers, sub woofers, batteries, capacitors, other power supply devices, or cone area (size of sub woofer). All competitors classes are determined based on their fuse rating on their amplifier, if they should not have a fuse then they are automatically placed in the un fused class, or given the ability to purchase a fuse and place themselves into a class.
Classes:
0 - 15 amps
20 - 30 amps
40 - 60 amps
80 - 120 amps
140 amps and up
Unfused OPEN
Now for the bass threshold portion, this is NOT, I repeat NOT BASSRACE. The rules for bassrace can be found on it's respective website, where you will find that the competition style is a average of your 30 second run without going over your class. Where as the A.S.P.L. format is where you spend your 30 second run getting closest to your number, without going over, you have a total of 2 runs, and your final score will be an average of the 2 peak numbers of each individual run.
Please feel free to e-mail marketing@fusionradio.ca with anything you need or shoot me a pm!
Just please note the goal of the show is to have fun guys and thats exactly what we plan on doing!! See you on the 6th!

nice classes, pretty much everyone is going to be in the same class for ASPL.
Ill probably come check out how the classing is going to work. With everyone loud thats there having unfused amps and being lumped in the same class. Its great for a trunk car with a trunk install to go against say freds panda or my aveo or even jesse's rex.

Very cool format, we may have to try and speed things up to make this show.
Seems much less "scary" for newb competitors like me and my bro as compared to dbdrags etc. Can't really make a mistake and get put up a class .
We'd try the 60 amp class for now. How hard can switching fuses be!! Love it !!

You don't even need to know about your equipment, the judge(s) [in Ontario at least] will open up your trunk or look at your setup to put you in the correct class. The "Questions" are along the lines of ... how many subs ... what amp ... and the rest they pretty much know.
But then again, go to show, pay the admission and try it out (in any format) ... it won't hurt, even when you lose
