Dammit, Kyle. You should have let me know you were doing this test earlier. I would have gladly sent my 150.1s with Clay to throw into your 12V and 18V tests.

Would have been an good apples to apples comparison IMO, as USACi rates the 150.1 at a hair over 1500wrms at 1 ohm.

This is absolute BS. Testing two 1500 against two 3000's ya nice test guys. You guys have done something totally wrong. These amps make there power at normal voltage and it has already been proven. This is not a third party test. This is a west coast I will prove you wrong test done there way. So I guess this means the Atomics and Cactus don't make there power either.

That makes a bit more sense than comparing to a 3kw amp... but the 150.1 is, by design, a 2,000 watt amplifier that they call 1500 watts to make it a "cheater" amp. Amps that share the same base board configuration are rated, fairly, at 2 - 2.2kw.

Prolifik, I believe Jake offered a pair for testing to anyone that was willing to do an unbiased test.

The amps were run at .35 ohms (subs) each but actual impedance after rise was about 1.45.

Both amps were tested on a battery bank that ws floated at 15.8V. Both amps gain levels were set to lowest. I dont know the input voltage, I am sure Riprock can tell us.

Here is info recorded:

PowerBass XA-3000D
Measured Voltage: 67V
Measured Amperage: 56A
Measured SPL:157.6dB (TL at Dash)
Calculated Ohm Load: 1.196ohms
Calculated Wattage: 3763W

Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D
Measured Voltage: 47V
Measured Amperage: 32A
Measured SPL:155.3dB (TL at Dash)
Calculated Ohm Load: 1.4689ohms
Calculated Wattage: 1507W

I would love to know what the input voltage was.

Let me get this straight, the gains were at the lowest and not matched to the HU????? Also doing a head to head with the SAZ1500 and a XA3000D......are you guys well????? Putting gain to the lowest setting is not how you test an amp. Nice work guys you just posted the minimum output power of this amp. Also the ohm load should have been the same...No?

Brad,

So the test was for a single 1500D vs. a single XA3000D? AND nobody bothered to figure in that the sensitivity settings aren't matched even if they are both "all the way down" due to the amps having different input impedances?

I have news for the guys conducting this test... it has no validity whatsoever being that you failed to configure the amps properly against each other.

How about another question... the 1500D was seeing a 21.6% higher impedance according to your numbers. So... again, how is your test valid?

Try doing an accurate test next time fellas

no one offered me to test one of these. its funny seeing you guys argue and fight over this. yet no one would send an amp this way for some unbiased testing.

Considering your comment on page one I don't see you as an unbiased source. If you were, in fact, unbiased I wouldn't mind seeing a test... but based on your own comments this doesn't seem to be the case.
