We went to the event to show support and help out where we could....parked in the back of the lot only to find out the next day that some punk had carved a "N" into my tailgate with their key....not impressed. so I don't blame you one bit wolf.

^ sooooo you were parked in a parking lot and your car got vandalized? scandalous..

The point trying to be made by several is that this is a car show. Yes the focus is on the stereo inside the car, but it is a car show none the less. Last time I went to a car show the 4x4s weren't all caked in mud and scratched to hell, yet that's exactly how they may look on a trail. Thankfully their owners appear to have a little pride and wash them off before showing up at a car show. Ditch pigs don't show up at car shows. Drag cars are made to go fast, they don't need to look good, yet the majority look at least respectible and the top performers almost always look very nice.

Yes, vinyl and paint doesn't get you loud but 'chrome don't get you home' yet so many of the nice go fast parts are chrome/polished. Why is that? Because people want to be proud to show off their stuff at a CAR SHOW

Nobody is saying a car has to look stunning. I can't see how it could hurt to throw a couple meters of trunk liner on a box or tie strap some wires and find a vacuum cleaner...

I don't get this concept of arriving at a show and locking everything up and pissing off until your turn either. Bring a co-pilot or make a friend and tradeoff wandering around and watching over the car. Allow yourself the feeling of pride and satisfaction of people admiring your hard earned dollars and endless nights. At the same time you are inspiring future competitors. Someone wandering around essentially a parking lot of closed up cars is never going to get excited about the hobby. IMO this was a major reason soundoffs dropped off in the first place.

Now, would anyone like to get back to discussing the IASCA results? If not, this thread appears to be done.

I pretty much keep my car open unless its being judged or listened to. I bring the car to show off my work and my gear. I also do it so people can give suggestions and ask questions. I hope everyone at the Eastern Finals keeps their trunks open. Even the nasty stuff.
