Would you support a Canadian finals?

Well we all know how much of a flop NV was for finals and how great all of the Canadians were in Indy... so I'm wondering. Would you be willing to boycott dbDrag for this year in order to try and convince Wayne that we deserve a finals?

By boycott I mean not buying a membership until the finals dates are announced (probably some time in April) or even going so far as to say you won't attend ANY finals next season unless it's in Canada.

Toms posts over on Termpro really got me thinking about how well we all came together and how many people aren't even able to participate because they can't cross the border.

btw... George... you don't get a vote because you don't compete :P (j/k.. I'm just bugging because you seem so against it over on Termpro)

George doesnt really know what he's talking about. He's talkin about americans not being able to cross the border, wtf???? Back in Audio Thunder days they had no problems and now all of a sudden they cant cross? From talkin to a whole bunch of Americans at Indy who were saying "oh I cant cross the border" 99% of them never even tried. They just figured they can't cross and that was it.

listen... I'm 110% stooked about Canada's presence at the finals..
you guys did an awesome job there..

but come on guys..lets be serious here..

What kind of a turn out do you really think a Canadian location would get?

Basing a Canadian Finals location on the fact that Canada had a good showing at finals this year is not sufficient.. there was about a dozen or so Canadians at Finals...

last time I checked a dozen competitors doesn't make a FINALS!
just look at the hurting Florida and Cali location last year and NV location this year...come on...lol

As for the part about having a ton of Canadian competitors that would of gone down to finals why dont you take a look once again at that list and tell me how it would of been different..there was a total of 23 competitors that had enough points to compete at Finals.. out of the 23 a total of 15 said YES...

Do you really think it would of been that much more had the finals been closer?
Do you really think so many more competitors are going to come out of the woodworks if a finals location happens to be in Canada?

Are we going to draw on the hundreds of competitors from Sudbury, Bolton, Orangeville, Kingston (not a shot at SPL INC), Quebec, Medicine Hat, Halifax or any other place?

Come on.. its being a realist.. AUDIOTHUNDER was the !!!!
Straight up.. but that doesnt mean you are guaranteed to have a huge turnout just because it worked.. remember it took years to build that show up.. it was a success from its first attempt.

Believe me I'm a true supporter of all of you here.. Its awesome what everyone does but saying lets have a Canadian location is just like those TARDS in Cali saying that they deserve and want a location there OR ELSE....lol...give me a break

On a final note.. if you really expect to have a large influx of Americans coming to a Canadian location then dont hold your breath.. that is a fact!!!

You can flame all you want.. I'm just stating facts... thats all

Nick... I honestly think you're over reacting.

I'm just asking a question. I'm not making anything happen. I even made the poll anonymous so people can vote without worrying about what "might" happen.

I guess I'm mostly asking to see how serious people are about wanting a Canadian finals.

lol... 4 people actually said they'd do it...lol
and also to add..this has nothing to do with being serious about wanting a Canadian location for finals.. if anyone thinks that this would be even worthwhile then they really need to have their head examined.

George... I think the problem is that you're being short sighted and thinking that ONLY Canadians would come to a finals in Toronto.

Sure, it would be a stupid idea if the finals locations were Indy or Ohio and Canada.

I'm thinking that they could make a location somewhere in the middle or southern half of the US (maybe Louisville or something like that) and then a second location in Canada.

The guys from Ohio/NY and maybe even Illinois would probably rather come to TO rather than make the drive all the way south. Basically distributing the venues.

Btw... how can you say you're stating FACTS when it has never been attempted and there are NO facts available to substantiate your argument?

I think you are very wrong. I think were IASCA went wrong is they shafted all the Canadians. I really hope Db Drag doesnt do the same.

So you'd rather have another Nevada location over a Canadian location where all competitors from Ohio, Michigan and New York could attend? Not to mention Northern Ontario and Quebec.

And before you say "Americans cant cross the border" you should ask them if they had EVER actually tried. Go ask, tell us what they say. It makes no sense that up until 2004 they had no problems crossing the border and NOW none of them can???? Think about it. 99% of them have never tried, they just assumed they cant cross.

And I believe that if there was a promissed finals location in Canada MANY more competitors from this region would make it. MAAAAAAAAANY MORE.

Only 23 had points....did you ever think why? 15 said yes.....but how many actually showed up? again, did you think why?
