Well my veiws are basically the same as kevin but also would love to see finals here in canada and I too believe that there would be alot more canadians showing up because they donot need to travel into the states or such a far distance to get there as well. for me to goto indy it would take aprox 30 hrs straight as well as the same to get to laughlin. But to get to TO for me is even a bit farther but because it is a canadian event I would sooner go there and not to mention I don't got a passport and also have a record so ya....

I think it probably is...

But it was only a matter of time..after all how fair was it that a World Finals was held in the USA and that if they wanted to compete they had to transport their vehicles overseas.. talk about CRAZY!!! but they did it.. and here you have people complaining about having to trailer or transport their vehicle and so forth...lol

P.S The Poll at this point is really NULL.. because everyone and their mother is going to answer YES!! So time to shut it down... You would of been better off leaving it the way it was Jordy.. Leaving it with the title WOULD YOU BOYCOTT FINALS.....
meh... I'm just going to boycott PAS Mag instead..... (unless I get some pics in there)

%100 correct. Couldnt of said it better myself.

This is a dumb topic Jordy , why would you want to boycott dbdrag? If you do send your panda over here for the year.

Boycotting is kinda harsh due to the fact this most of us do it for the love of the sport. The only reason why I didn't go this year and last year is YES I cannot cross. Hopefully that will change. For some of the others I'm sure that you would have a big turnout merely for the fact that it costs money to do that DB Drag trip. You're looking at the following factors in dollars(this is an estimate. It will cost some more than others) gas, $200, hotel $200, entrance fees I don't know so maybe someone can help me out with that, food for the weekend, $200 unless you eat at a fast food joint. Don't if I'm missing out on anything else but based on what I just listed the cost alone is $600. Not everyone has that kinda dough to drop down just like that. I can guarantee you that if we had a canadian finals how many people will Team ALTECH bring to the show alone??? lol

200 for entrance and 50 person to pit crew.
My trip to worlds last year, with the canadian dollar being at par and only staying in hotel for 4 nights, and driving a neon was upwrds about 1000-1200... not including oil change when bak, servicing... andthing like that...
Dont get me wrong it was fun, but I aint got that cash to drop now, plus I think TO has a lot of potential for great things!

George do you really think turn outs at Indy were good? Turn out in Canada would have been same or better and you know it.

I really dont understand why you say no one would show up to a finals location in Canada?

How would Db Drag shaft Canadians? By not having a close enough location. How many canadians do you think would go to finals if it moved back to Nashville? Really? One, maybe two?

Five Canadian cars were at 2004 Nashville location. And back then gas did not cost $1.10 - how many Canadians do you think would go to Nashville now?

Here's another question. Had there not been another US location and there was only Indy - how many competitors who showed up to the "other" location would have had come to Indy? Half maybe? Not even. Even if ALL 15 guys from the other location showed up (which would be highly unlikely) the turn out would still not be much better.

My point is this, maybe Indy is not that great of a location really, and maybe a centralized location is not the way to go with gas prices and other traveling costs these days.

Why are there so many locations in Europe? They dont really need so many, they could have done with a centralized location over there. Ontario is bigger than most countries in Europe, yet they have THREE locations. We had to drive for 10 hours to get to 1 location. In Europe, if you drove for 10 hours you could have made it to all 3 locations.

What im trying to say is this - the idea of a centralized location is dumb and dead. You got to go to where the support is.

how much does it cost to rent the skydome for 2 days? seriously? it's big enough but the turnout would have to be extreme. dosen't darknights ricer party go on there and they have huge turnouts. it seems like every large event i've been to with huge turnouts ( jay jones, dreamsport, barrie cspl finals) have ALL had car shows at the same time. so why is db drag finals limited to the competitor and pit crew no spectators? if the lanes were roped off and spectators had no access to the pits or lanes, charge $10 admission to them.then $30 car show entry, and the $200 and $50 entry and pit fees, people would start showing up. if you look at the amount of people that attend SEMA, DARKNIGHTS,NOPI or any other convention the outcome is huge, but to me it looks like db drag finals don't get the competitors cause only competitors are allowed in. correct me if i'm wrong, i didn't see any spectators in yuli's videos.

the reality of dbdrag is that one location is now inevitable...three **** poor tries failed and as of right now "his" mind is made up....the fact of the matter is evrybody has great ideas...but "he" is going to do whats best for business...Hopefully "he" realizes that buisness is failing and making changes such as a "regionalized finals" and "outdoor venues" will be the way to go and the way of the future

Like I said before, I wasn't serious about boycotting and I probably spoke too quickly...

I'll trade the Panda for the Trooper
