if it's central, at least the drive from the east and west would be similar. if there is only 1 event, why would it HAVE to be in toronto???? I could say the same things about vancouver being the shizznit, and that it should be held there, but I'm not. just for equality purposes it should be somewhere central. if an event is planned, promoted, and put on properly, then it would rock no matter where it was.

its not a question of it would be cool or not.
in order for it to have a chance there is no way it could be in
Central Canada..you can be serious thinking that..lol

This is not a question of Toronto being this shiznit or not and Vancouver being the shiznit..

its about what location has a better chance of succeeding.
what location has a better chance of drawing more people from all over
and if you can tell me of another place in Canada that has a better chance of
getting the draw other than Toronto then be my gues.

As for the last part you mentioned of finals rocking wherever it is as long as its planned
and promoted properly.. I'll have to disagree with you.. its all about location and thats been proven two years in a row...

Look at FL and Cali last year and NV this year.... BUSTS!!!!!!!!

having an event in toronto MAY have a better chance of drawing people in.....from the gta and eastern canada......., but like I said before, toronto would be too far of a drive for me and I probably wouldn't go(I can think of a handfull of other people who think the same).

as far as what could be a better place, it seems to me the olypic comitee thinks vancouver can bring in enough spectators to host the olympics in 2010, why couldn't it host a world db drag event??? Again, I am not saying it should be here or there, but somewhere where it is a FAIR commute for everyone. If it is a good enough event, people will go, regaurdless of where it is held

hahaha...hahahaha...
did you actually just use the Olympics as a comparison...lol..lol

you cant be serious...

this is not a question of whats fair and what isnt..
its a question of what would work and what wouldnt...

In years past when it was in one location only everyone went no matter where they were from.. thats the bottom line.. if they wanted to and had the means they made the trip.. hell you even had people coming from various parts of the world..

so if its about losing a few competitors from the west then unfortunately then that would be the case..

As for Yuli.. can you explain to me a better place perhaps my friend

did anyone see the episode of mythbusters with the big woofer? what event did tori go to cause that looked like a massive event. another question, how many judges are actually in each area? are there judges for each provience or what? do they come from the u.s. like psychoacoustics? or do they all just have 1x pointer's?

no there are not judges in each province.
that event was at SBN were they filmed if I recall.

as for judges if the event is going to by a multi then you need to have a certified judge.
right now on the east coast we pretty much have Bill & Erie that take care of our events at this time.

on the west coast I know there is a few judges.. I'd rather have them mention themselves so I dont leave anyone out..lol

Another thing I believe is that in order for an individual to be a multi point judge they need to attend and help officiate at the WF.. so just take a look at who the which judges officiated this year and you'll have a good idea who is a Multi Point Judge for the upcoming season

Your responses seem very small-minded if you honestly think that Toronto could be the only place a Canadian World Finals would work. Yes, it is a possiblilty, but don't rule out everywhere else in canada. ALOT of world-wide events take place all over Canada, and the turnouts for those are just fine.

Because this whole idea is just a vision, I will wait to see what does actually happen next year. From the rumors that I heard at worlds this year, it sounds as though there will only be 1 north american world finals location next year anyways.

As for multi-point judges, there are at least 5 in western canada that I am aware of.
