Need help in choosing a proper alarm/starter

hey everyone,

winter is only a few weeks away and I want to get my alarm/starter combo ASAP.

There are only a couple of systems that I am focusing on right now (narrowed down)

One is the Compustar Model Number RF-P2WSS (1 mile range)
http://www.compustar.com/products/pro/RF-P2WSS.html

Another is the Compustar 2W9000FMAS

and the other one is the Viper Model Number 5901 or 5902.

5902 just has a colour screen on the remote everything else is the same as the 5901. 1 Mile

Does anyone have any idea suggestions regarding getting a system like this, I dont want no crappy 80 dollar unit thats gonna last me 2 months, I want the best and this is what Ive been able to find out so far. IF anyone has any of these installed or can give me any help I would be really happy.

My MAX price would be 400-450.

Please tell me all your views

The CDN models of Compustar differ from the ones on their site. The model for you to consider is the 2WFMASPRO which is their top of the line offering for our area at least. Back east has a different distributor so it may be a slightly different model #. You should be able to find a vendor here on the forum in your area that stocks this model and will give you a quote on it installed.

If your going to go for a combo, I would go with the 5901. It has a nicer remote which is rechargeable, allows you to customize the colours of the screen, adjust the shock sensor by remote and it responds faster than the compustar does. Plus the remotes won't lose programming if your car battery happens to die.
