2 subs...1 pounds...the other...not so much?

Hey guys.

I just bought another identical sub and I am running them from my t2-1400 amplifier. Whenever the volume gets to 30, the 30amp fuse in the distro-block blows, and amp(obviously) turns off.

I also have another question. One of the subs doesn't pound as hard as the other. I checked the polarity...its weird What could cause that? I made sure the wiring in the box is clean and correct (good solders)

And, about my first problem, do I even need that fuse in the fuse distro-block? I mean, I have a fuse 3inches after the battery, and then the 30amp fuse at the distro-block, and then the amp has 2 30amp fuses

Thanks a lot to every one here at CCA, always a great help

you didn't say anything about how your subs are configured or wired.

I suspect you have them wired diferently or you have 2 different subs.

If they are the same, are they dual voice coil? Is one in paralel, the other series?
So, IF for instance, you have 2 2ohm dvc subs with one wired for 4 ohm, the other for 1 ohm, that would blow fuses.

That was one wild guess, but without more info, can't help.

If they are the same and they're both 4 ohm, they should sound the same.

If not, one is shot.

Do you have a meter to measure ohms?

I looked up that amp. 1 x 550W @ 2 ohms, so it should work pretty good with two 4 ohm P1's.

yeah......i guess the older one is shot.

It still pounds, but not as hard. Thanks alot guys, always a great help. And just so you guys know, I took the fused ditro-block out, and now just running a regular one. I feel I have enough fuses as it is...once I get another amp though, I will definately go back to the fused distro!

I also went ahead and ran a new 12v line straight from battery to HU, as if anyone remembers my older thread I was having problems.

Thanks again, and now it is time to do the big 3!
