3 subs of one mono amp?

Just wondering if it would be possible to run my younger brothers sub rated at 150rms of one 600watts mono amp? Seeing as how there all subs can the wires me connected together and stuck into the same inputs? or conversely if I found an approriate 3 ch how would I have the correct crossover so the all get a signal?

any help?

thanks dc

re8

There re8 old generation, pre production models. dual 4 ohm, no amp selected basing this answer on what amp to buy him.

Huh?
You would need to calculate the ohm load to figure out if the amp you're looking at can handle it.

You could get a 2 ohm load if you wired the coils in series (8 each) then all 3 subs in parallel.

What are the subs RMS?

well you'll either have 3-2ohm drivers(dual 4ohm parellel) or 3-8ohm drivers(dual 4 ohm series), so your choice of amps are either an amp stable to below 1ohm(3-2ohm parellel), stable to 2ohm(3-8ohm parellel...yield a 2.67ohm load), or any other amp as the seies connection of either scenario will yield a higher than 4 ohm rating which just about any car audio amp can handle. You won't want to run your subs at such a high load, as you won't be maximizing output. My suggestion is a 2 ohm amp about 1.5x the rated rms power of your subs all together, that way you'll get about the right power for your subs at the higher 2.67ohm load(since the amp won't give you full power at that load, you'll want a higher power amp). There are other configurations, but they would yield eneven power to each driver...not really recommended for a simple system.

Thanks veeman.

So look for a 2ohm mono amp, pushing about 750-900watts. Any little conecters available that would allow me wire all 3 wires into one amplfier pickup? I was thinking just a small distribution block of sorts.
