Question 700$ Setup for SunfireGT 01'???

hey guys i'd need your advice for a audio setup.. it's my first so

i don't really know what to buy... i went to futureshop 2day just to see what

they have and the guy there suggested me this setup :

-Infinity basslink sub woofer (http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BASSLINK&cat=SUB&ser=BSL& Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA)

- Pioneer DEH-P3000IB head unit

with the wires, installation, face plate it ended at 720$ taxes included

is that a good deal ?? could i get better boom for my buck ??!

if you could give me some advices for a good

head unit + sub, amp , wires it would be great thanks !

If you can either build a box yourself or have access to having one made locally, then there are definitely better deals to be found that are going to allow you far more expansion of the system down the road.

Build the box for two subs but buy only one for now. Buy a mono amp that can power both subs down the road. A cd player that perhaps has a USB/ ipod interface ability instead of a AUX input only. Lots of options to consider. Is this the top end of your budget or the low end?

top end would be like 800 with installation included ... i dont really want to have a

kickass setup just sometin that will be better than stock and which will give somme

decent bass i mostly listen to rap/techno so thats what i'm looking for , my curent setup

have 4 speekers with 2 tweeters .. i dont really

want to have to build a boxe if possible thats why i thought the basslink would be a

good option ??

The local FS should also have some basic prefab sealed boxes. This would be a better route for you to take. When you originally stated can I get better boom for my buck, the answer is yes and the first thing to go is the contraption called a basslink. I will get a quote for you from the local FS as to what install and a box would cost, then work up a estimate on some better equipment for you. I am not at the shop today, it is my one day off, I work tonight from 9-4am thn am at my shop tomorrow at 10am-6pm. If you really need me to do the estimate this afternoon, I will go to the shop and do it for you.

For sure, forget the Basslink and pickup a single 10 with box and small amp. It'll cost you a little more but it's worth it.

Pioneer DEH-P3000IB head unit - $149.99
GMCO (wire harness) - $149.99
BHAA4 (antenna adapter) - $16.99
BKGMK420 (dash kit) - $29.99
Install - $54.98
Total - $401.94 + taxes

Amp install - $69.99

I'd also suggest at least getting a 4AWG wire no matter which amp you get.
Simply for the reason that it will allow you to upgrade to something a little more powerful in the future.
Which we all know you will.

Have a look into the following:
Pioneer 10" Car Subwoofer (TS-W257D4) - $103.99
Pioneer 800W Class D Mono Amplifier (GM-D7400M) - $245.99
Ported box - $$$ depends on which route you go.
Sometimes they have an offer where you buy the amp and you get the sub for free.

I've had some pretty good results from that sub and amp combo.
A lot of the price that you are looking at is going to be for parts and labour.
