Advice on porting and sub reccomendations

my sub box I built is for 2 12" woofers each side of the box has 1.867 cubic feet of air it has 8 1/2" mounting depth and is fully sealed at this point I would like to know if I can port this box and details on how and where to put the ports if I can even port it.... im running a Rockford fosgate p-1000 1db for a amp so I need advice about porting and some subs recommended for this type of set up any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

It' a bit more complicated than just porting the box. When you port, you will lose some of that airspace and may loose mounting depth if you port through the side. On the bright side, there are a ton of subs that will do well sealed with that space. It really boils down to what kind of sound your looking for and your budget. If your dead set on porting, I recommend only using a single 12" that will make good use of the power you have available as well as the airspace. It will sound better than if you try to squeeze a pair of subs and not have enough internal volume, trust me!
