I am about to purchase the following setup. Please let me know recommendations and other comments you have. Please!

Subwoofer: Solo-Baric S12L7 12'' 300mm (Already own)
Amplifier: Alpine MRP-F300
Front Speakers: Infinity Kappa 62.9i
Rear Speakers: Infinity Kappa 62.9i

What's a good wiring kit to purchase? What else do I need?

What do you have for a sub amp. No way that F300 is going to make an L7 happy.

 

Nothing for a sub amp. I was planning on buying a 4 channel amp, using 2 channels for front speakers and the other channel for the sub.

Why doesn't the MRP-F300 work? What amp would you recommend?

 

The MRP-F300 would work but it's only pushing out 150 watts RMS @ 4ohms, compared to the 750rms that the L7 can take.

 

An L7 setup properly will take 1000rms no prob. You sir... need a bigger amp.

Although I can't really talk... I'm only giving 2 15's capable of well over 1500rms each, a whopping 400rms from my 4ch... as long as you don't push the gains trying to make it "louder" it will work. Heck, I metered mine... 141db @ 44hz on less than 350rms... ... it can be done, but your sub needs more. My subs only move like 1/4 inch, lol.

Can't wait to get the Atomic fixed, lol.

 

Is it true that many subs are always underrated? By maybe 33%?

Kicker L7 inside a ported box (750watts RMS)
Alpine MRP-F300 4 channel powering only my speakers
Infinity Kappa Coaxial 62.9i’s front speakers only
Kicker 10ZX750.1 Mono channel powering only my sub


I’ve heard from some experts and my friends that for this setup I either need to get a 1 farad capacitor or a new alternator. Anyone have recommendations on either one to get? What’s the “Big 3” also?
