Alpine Hu help please

Hi Im in the process of installing an alpine cda9831, Ive got it all wired up but I get no sound in cd mode. It works in tuner mode just fine. I cant find anything in the manual that might suggest whats wrong. Oh yeah the hu was working just fine before I pulled it out of my old car. Does anyone have an idea whats going on?

Thanks

Some decks have a setting to level sound between CD, Tuner, etc so when you switch sources they switch at the same level. Maybe somehow yours turned all the down.

Yeah I thought about that too, but I was playing with all the settings trying to get it to work, and nothing. I even tried resetting the the hu and no luck. Oh well I guess its time to bite the bullet and pick up a new hu.

If you have an amplifier in the system, switch the blue remote wire for the blue/white going to your amp. There are two remote wires used on Alps radios, the blue wire is only powered when using tuner and the blue/white is powered on both tuner and cd.

This should fix your issue.

Ohhhh, yaaaaa, I should have thought of that. Glad he got it fixed! I forget about the blue wire, I never use it unless there is a power antenna.

Glad it worked out!

BTW, if money is burning a hole in your pocket why not take that extra cash and purchase something else for the system, some new front speakers or an iPod and adapter perhaps (if you don't have this stuff already)
