amp goes into protection mode

HI guys,

I have a 2001 cavalier equip with a 600W amp and an infinity 12'' sub. Heres the problem. My wiring setup is good. When I turn on the radio, the amp turns on but as soon as my RCA cables are plug into the amp, it goes into protection mode. If I disconect the RCA, it stays on. BTW, all the ground wires are correctly grounded.

any help would be appreciate.

Temp just plug it into the deck and throw them over the seat into the amp. You may have shorted them when you were puting the panels back on. It could be your input to the amp or your pre-outs from the deck.

Ok I did that and it does the same thing. I turn on the radio and the amp goes into protection mode. I tried to put the stock radio in and a friend of mine told me to buy an impedance adapter(speaker to RCA) considering the stock radio doesn't have the pre-outs, and its still not working. Im getting very tired of all this. BTW where am I supose to plug the remote wire on the stock radio? I tried the red ACC one but its a live wire so the amp stays on all the time. thanks for the help.

RE:amp goes into protection mode

Actually guy i think your amplifier has some setting problem perhaps your amplifier has not done complete wiring it can be cause when you start radio so they they goes automatically protection mode RCA cables . I think you should reconnection of amplifier then they will fine.
