... well do you know? YOU said you connected RCAs to speakers! This is where you say either you dont know what you did, or thats not what you meant to say, or we misunderstood your words.

(and this is where I am supposed to recommend you go to a pro and have him fix your installation, because a screwdriver in your hand is a lethal weapon to your car audio system) dont disappoint me as I have been waiting patiently for this for 2 days

I'm pretty sure he ran an RCA from the speaker to the RCA input on his sub amp for a signal. I'm sure that shak (is that short for Shakira?) can confirm these details.

lol, dam your good thats me shakira, well what i did was I spliced the rear door speaker wires and ran them to a LOC. I then connect my RCA cables to the LOC then to my amp. I guess my first post was a bit misinformed. so what do the experts think. Where did I go wrong? I am not replacing the HU yet, but will in the future. Jus wanted something simple and this seemed the easiest way to run a sub.

hmm, amp to loc by rca and then loc to speaker by speaker wire. sounds right to me. all the ones I've hooked up have been like that and they've worked. if you're in toronto I'll take a look at it. never did an '09 before but maybe another pair of eyes will help find the problem.

if not I'll take the easy way out and say grounding issue?

so you didn't splice a RCA into your speaker wires... the second description sounds like a ground issue. Is there a whine as the engine revs? Is there a thump when you change tracks? any other symptoms... and exactly when did they start?

there is no whine when the engine revs, it's just like a deep hum from the sub when i roll the window. I suspect it might be a ground issue or the wire i spliced is exposed and geting feedback from the voltage runing through thr window wires when you roll the window. I have to further inspect.
