Box Question for 3 Subs
You are right though. There is a guy in Windsor that runs 1 15" and 2 10"s along with 4 pair of comps in his front doors and it sounds great on metal. He does however have complete control over all frequencies using the active Xover docking ports on his 4 Kicker ZR amps. He has been the only person I've seen get away with it. One of the sweetest cars I've ever heard. No amount of EQ adjustment would work for him, but the active Xovers worked well. He has played in a band for 23 years and has his own recording studio and band room at home so I'm thinking he knows his sound.
It took our local shop almost a month to work out the design with him. Think he's got about 10K invested after install.
good point..... I hate to agree with you but thats what i was thinking all day.. I am going to build a nice box for my 2 12's though.
All this tuning 'stuff' is new to me.
I do have another question,
it seemed my car performed best in spl at 47hz, is this what i should tune my port to or is that my cars frequency?
exactly, just bragging rights, a nice clean set-up. i dont lke burping all that much....
i heard a buddy of mine a few years back with 2 vegas. i heard him from a FAR distance.... Im still trying to accomplish that.

If your car peaks at 47 you want to tune a little bit lower so the box will peak at 47. Tuning 3-5 hz lower then your RF ( cars resonant frequency ) will usually peak at your RF. But if you want all around loud tune to around 40 hz and that will still give you an f3 ( rolloff point ) of about 36 hz. Which can still get decently low. Also what sub model are they?
