A couple questions

hey, im pretty new to car audio and had a few questions:

First- i just installed 6.5" spears into 4x5".. the problem is the magnet is attracting to the door ... will this effect sound quality? or does it matter?

second- the speakers are 200 watts, and i am running them temperarely off my car deck. the quality isnt the greatest, especially when you turn it up. is this caused by have no amp because my deck is only 50watts. will the quality improve at higher volume if i had an amp?

thanks in advance for you help..

as long as the magnet isn't touching steel, you're ok.

yes, get an amp.

deck power is only 18w rms, and that is split between front and rear in most cases.

ignore any and all max ratings. thoeretical power, never achived in reality.
sales bullsiht.
look for and use rms rating only.

The amplifer "section" of a deck is about the size of the end of your thumb (if that) and a 50-100 watt amp is bigger than the whole deck itself.

This should help you out

Get spacer rings for your speakers. Any decent install shop should be able to help you out or get another way of getting those speakers off the doors. Nothing worse than a hack install. Either that or get smaller speakers.

A deck will push your speakers, but an amp will make them sing. I was amazed at how much of a difference an amp made with my speakers, like night and day!
