crossover issues -> need a little help

well after having my alpine 9885 for about 3 months i've decided i am just not happy with it.
i bought it when i bought my current amps. so i have only ever used it with my current amps. i could use the on board crossovers on the deck for the fronts and rears (shutting off the crossovers on the 4 channel amp)and the crossover on the sub amp for the subs since the deck had no sub crossovers and all was well.

i reinstalled my old pioneer premier 860mp which has all onboard crossovers. i can shut off the crossovers on the 4 channel to use the ones on the deck but the main problem is the subout. in order to use it i have to use at least one of the onboard slopes. the amp has a 24db slope that cant be shut off and the deck has selectale 6-18db with no passthrough, which also cant be shut off.

so in order to use the sub out, it has to have a crossover selected and i cant shut off the amps crossover.

whats the best course of action?
set the crossover on the deck high (say 100hz @ 18db )and then set the crossover on the amp at what i would normally set it at? (80hz@24db)?

confused as hell here

Set either or to the frequency that you want, and then set the other one slighty above it or way over it.
