I just did a quick install in my friends 5 liter Alpine Cd HU MB Quart 6.25" doors and 1" in the dash I also put the Crossovers in the dash, 6x9 in the rear deck 14awg to all speakers

Now the Problem is when you turn up the volume past 18 when the bass hits it kinda cuts out for a second

any sugguestions?

speaker wire gounding out?
the pos. & neg too close on the xover?
bad power supply to the HU?
(last owner cut all the wires so I just quessed the wires anyone know the colour wires to use for a 90 Mustang V8)

What am I over looking?

Thanks

Does the amp turn off when it cuts out? If it does, check your grounds.. also, what load are you putting on the amp? What amp is it?

FOr the wiring diagram go to http://www.installdr.com

the HU isn't that new 97 or something like that, I thought it might not have enough jucie its kinda small wire but the lights on the HU weren't dimming

We will be putting an Amp and sub in the next week
so I think I will try an new wire from the fuse box to the HU

Thanks

UPDATE

Finally got back to my buddy's car

it was the Crossovers for the MB Quart
so no amp just deck power
as soon as you hook up the crossovers even if there is no speakers hooked up to the crossovers it starts to cut out

anyone ever hear of this?
I guess the xovers have too much resistance?
