Hey guys I have hit a small impass with my alarm and am trying to locate a wire that has power only when the wehicle is on and during crank. Any ideas on a general wire with these criteria? The radio ignition wire should not have power in the crank position right? Thanks for any help.

Dude, if you are ever in my neighborhood, I will personally wash and wax your car for you while you enjoy a frosty one on my back porch. That one is the ticket! Thanks a lot.

Before you can hold me to that though, I have to ask, I am only getting 8.75 volts from that wire are run and crank. Does this sound right?

you should have 12 volts are you metering using a good ground?
also if your trying to check when in the crank position you will need to overcrank when measuring
the meter needs a few seconds before it locks onto the voltage
digital meters sample they don't give a real time reading
p.s. if you cut the wire in two you should get cranking with no start
