DTS vs THX

DTS, THX, and Dolby Digital are all competing formats, the manufacturer must pay licensing fees and develop hardware to decode the software. I think (not sure) Dolby Digital and DTS are 5.1 while THX is 6.1 a deluxe unit may have several formats but home theater in the car has not taken off like some had hoped so most are not willing to pay more for these features. My home theater knowledge is at least a decade old since it isn't a priority for me ... caveat emptor

I really dont think DTS should sound better than THX, THX has much tighter requirements for the THX logo

THX is not 6.1. The original THX is encoded with dolby digital 5.1, just to THX standards. THX-EX, Dolby Digital-EX and DTS-ES are all 6.1 and 7.1 compatible

valor playing DTS? wow id def hold on to that.. DTS is really the . I got some dts audio disks at ces last year and i love em. Rare as hell but im planning to pick up more this year. Knowing my luck that vendor wont be there.
