Eliminating Amp "POP" at Start-up!
I have an '08 F150 Screw that came with the Premium Audio System. Recently I purchaced a JVC KW-NX7000 DVD/NAV unit and had it installed and integrated with the factory speakers, amplifier and sub.
The first thing I noticed on start-up is a loud "pop" when the power hits the amp. After doing some research, I have discovered that this noise is generally caused by the amp receiving an improper voltage signal from the aftermarket head unit. In most newer Ford vehicles, the voltage supplied to the amp from the factory head unit is only 5 volts. Aftermarket head units generally supply a 12 volt signal, hence the loud "pop".
