doesn't matter if you have 5 watts or 5000 watts. if the amp is setup correctly, the speakers will be just fine.

and the whole class D debate is exactly that, debatable. old class D did not sound the greatest full range. newer amps sound amazing.

you just need to weigh your options on what you value more, efficiency, footprint, power, cost, sq.

Class D is owning class A/B in value more often than not.
by far in efficiency, easily in footprint, and same goes for power. the only murky point it "SQ", which is mostly user dependant anyways, and if that is taken out of the equation, it a minimal gap with newer amps anyways.

just weigh out your needs and wants, regardless of your choice, all the listed amps so far are great.

also check out flexibility of the amps crossovers. some amps will allow you to run a fully active system now and have no need to crossovers on a headunit.

i'd like to stay in the audison brand ,reason being i have good price on them. i guess its just down to which ones to choose to power up my system .... the 5.1k is tempting , one amp to power up all my system, nice and easy or i go with what the guy at the store said, combo of the 4.5 and the 1.1k ..... i hate my situation right now

That is a silly comment without merrit. If you doubt that come sit in my car and say that !! Please enlighten us as to what good sound for the money is and how Zed class "D" doesn't compare to class A/B?

BTW: My Leviathan runs off a 25A fuse, how about you?

It's not a silly comment and who cares what fuse it runs off of.

i care what fuse it runs off of because im in no position to be upgrading alternators for amps with huge draw.
these amps will make the same amount of power as most class a/b on half the current draw.

and that thread basically states what i just stated earlier:P.
class D is better power, efficiency, footprint and price point.
the buyer just needs to determine if the mediocre SQ difference is worth all of those offsets.

for a guy like John who has gone to extreme lengths, this small upgrade is worth it. but for 99.9% of people, its not. spend the difference on a more noticable improvement.

just out of curiosity, have you used any new class D in your car?

and back on topic, my vote would be a single amp to run it if you aren't desperate for power. simplifies the system, easier on the car, easier install, cheaper most likely. etc

Interesting, My measly 60amp Honda Alt has survived 4 years with 150k and still works. All my amps since I bought the car in 2006 were A/B - I tried a class D once and never liked it. Just like Johns car the JLs were nice but the Arc's were a drastic improvement.

ahhh, see now you are just throwing words in there.

johns actual words were that there were no huge improvements.
he just got more than he thought he was going to.
nothing drastic goin on there:P

lol, and we aren't all lucky to be driving hondas, i don't think my saturn could take it.

i agree that the arcs are amazing, but i think you need to start giving new class D a chance again. espcially if you haven't owned one for over at aleast 5 years.
