People with experience in line output converters look here!

Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some information on which line output converter is the right one and way to go. I drive a G35 and as you know, installing an aftermarket head unit is very expensive and just a nightmare. Now there are a few line output converters out there, 1. Jl Cleansweep 2. Rockford Fosgate 3sixty 3. AudioControl lc6i and I think alpine has one too...Now all I want is some bass in my car but I don't want to compromise the quality of the sound...One person told me to just get a converter and splice into the rear speaker wires and then into the amp...but I feel that this will take away the quality of the output from the sub...My question is, will any of these line output converters improve quality of the sound to my sub? Also, which one of these output converters would you recommend? or am I just wasting my time with these?...thanks for the input

Before i replaced my deck, i used the factory radio and replaced all the speakers. I used a generic LOC from Best Buy and a Kicker Crossover. The problem with just taking a tap off the feed to your rear speakers, is that the rear speakers will still get the same low freq that you want on your sub. probably not in phase. This will hurt the sound. If it is a factory amplified system, then you need a good LOC like mentioned earlier.
Or, you can disconnect the rear and only use sub and front.

I used 4 ch LOC, crossover front for components and crossover for rears and subs. Used amps on all speakers. It was ok, but nowhere near as good as the same setup with the alpine HU. The factory HU just wasn't up to it.

If all you want to do is add bass then look for a Soundgate LOC.SUBA

This is a great sounding LOC and has 100Hz crossover, subsonic filter, gain control, and 50Hz bass boost. They are $130.

The G35 has a small sub in the back...I was thinking about using the feed off that rather than the rear speakers...One thing I also heard about replacing the factory head unit is that the factory speaker impedance is made for the factory head unit so even if I do decide to change the head unit, the speakers will either blow or be underpowered...is this true?...if I do decide to change the HU, will I have to change the rest of the speakers in the car?...thats going to put a huge dent in my wallet if thats the case...

Oh yeah forgot to ask....which LOC out of the 3 I mentioned above would you guys recommend?...I believe the audiocontrol is the cheapest and the JL is the most expensive...I'd like to believe that more expensive is better but for something that I have no experience in, I won't make that assumption

I tried checking out the website and that model specifically wasn't available

None of those LOC's are going to "improve" sound quality to the sub because the signal is still coming from the stock (bad) head unit. However it wont sound bad by any means. I've used the soundgate piece that was mentioned and it worked awesome, definately the way to go if u dont mind spending the extra bucks.
