Please help! - Sony receiver reboots on startup

Hi all!
First, let me say I'm in the U.S. ... but my best friend is Canadian :-)

This issue has been consistent since I had my system installed.
I posted at the Crutchfield forums but have had no replies yet.
I will copy that post below as it contains the basic information about my problem.

---------------------------------
Sony XAVW1 receiver

Sirius SC-C1 Tuner - Sirius SNY-SC1 Adapter (packaged together as kit)

Sony XA-110ip iPod adapter

PAC SWI-PS steering wheel controls adapter <- don't think this matters in the issue... but what do I know.

(Rockford Fosgate amps - Infinity Kappa speakers and sub - the sound is fine)

Problem:

When I start the car cold, the receiver restarts its boot process before finishing the first time. -Not a huge deal.

Start the car after running just a few minutes (like run to the store) or when it's warm or the weather is hot - The receiver comes up but the iPod adapter shows as not connected (adapter presence not dependent on actual iPod being plugged in). Sirius shows as connected but does not work - essentially frozen.

Press the Sirius button on the screen and the receiver reboots and eventually shows the "Initial Settings" screen (Sub on/off, listening position, etc - should never see this screen after installation or disconnecting battery). After I press OK it comes up and shows the Sirius and the iPod options as available... but Sirius won't work. Sirius won't work again till the next day unless its cold outside. iPod works ok.

On the Sirius screen, when it won't work, the displays are whatever was last working. Such as channel, song, etc... but its all static/stuck. None of the buttons except Display will even beep when pushed. Display will beep but won't do anything else. -example, drive to gas station listening to Sirius, pull under overhang and lose sat so screen shows "Acquiring"... pull out after gassing up and Sirius screen stays on "Acquiring" from then on, completely unresponsive.

I had a shop do the install. They don't know why it's doing this.

Already returned the head unit to Sony. Got a refurb back and it does EXACTLY the same thing.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
---------------------------------

The Sirius adapter connects to the head unit and the Sirius receiver and iPod adapter both connect to the adapter.
I have disconnected the iPod to no avail and have connected the iPod adapter directly to the head unit.
When the iPod adapter was directly connected it seemed to play fine but the head unit showed it was Satellite radio.

I'm just clueless and hope someone here maybe has seen a similar issue and can chime in with an idea.

Thanks in advance for any help!
