Simple ground wiring question
#11
But I really dont care (that much) about my car! Im gonna sell it as soon as I can get something I actually want, so if I dont have to, I dont want to
I know people with the big 3 not done and they dont have problems with dimmin lights, with older car as well
If I do the big 3 it will inspire me to put something 10x as big in the car, and I really dont want to do that, I want to buy another car then put the good in.
anyone else have input?

I just checked the Big 3 wires and they are 8 guage wires already, and they seem to be in fine condition, and my amp is running with 8 guage wires....so is it really the Big 3 that needs to be done for the dimming to stop?
My head unit is used, Im thinking of trying a different one if I can find one, but I dont know if that would cause headlight dimming...

Why would i need 4 AWG for 450 rms system? I was told 8 AWG is fine....
Of course bigger is better but 8 awg wire should be fine for 450 watts I am being told
Lol
The sound is fine! The only problem with the sound is my interior speakers cutting out and my head unit shutting off (with no sub)...which is making me think it might be my head unit...doing all of these "upgrades" is in turn going to **** my old car up, I know it, especially when Im the one doing them....

Ok, so Big 3, thanks for the help you went deep into solving the problem and fixed it
I should just reply to every thread, BIG 3, its Supa Simple ^_^
Still not going to do it, my cars a peice mane, its not worth doing...If my battery is the problem the wires wont help, if my alternator is the problem the wires wont help... they will make it worse, so Im gunna just gonna live with the dimming I guess thanks

In order for any current to do its job you need ground, so a proper ground is crucial to allow the current to do its job properly and most importantly efficiently. If you have a weak ground, that can cause hardship on your equipment and even on the car for that matter, so by upgrading your factory grounds in your motor compartment its win win for everything.

I think what I should add is that you could have a weak connection on your power wire also, they are both as important, not one more than the other... I have seen a lousy battery connection and it will get hot quick, added heat = added resistance on the power wire itself. IIRC as copper rises above 0c the hotter it gets more resistance on the wire.. where did that textbook go..
