Your friend should have also told you to use 0/1 gauge power as well for 2500 watts. If you are planning to upgrade to an amp that will need at least 4 runs of 0 ga why would you put 4 ga in there now?

For an American Bass 1000.1 you will need 4 separate 0/1ga positive wires to feed power from the battery to that monster. http://www.americanbassusa.com/front/showcontent.aspx?fileid=183
If you look at the rear view pic bottom left you can see the 4 positive and 4 negative input termoinals and they are all 0/1 ga. You are going to need some other serious electrical upgrades to even think of running that amp. H.O. alternator and a few batteries to start. Are you going to compete with that amp? I don't think it is a daily amp at all. I believe it also likes to be run at 18v as well.

^ the big 3 will improve the flow of power, if that is why the car is having trouble... it is not a miracle worker but for its cost it fixes a lot of problems

I do get a laugh over people complaining about the cost of this which is ridiculous as it is cheaper than anything else you do to the audio system. Maybe because you cant buy a Big 3 kit on eBay?

You can get battery and alt cable at crappy tire already made. It's not as cheap as making it yourself but it's definitely quick. I did 2 of the big 3 this way and it took me about 5 min at CTC and 10 min to install....properly.

i was told that the welding cables threads are too fine any thoughts on this anyone? and also if i'm pushing 140 amps to the system and my altanator is 65. which means my car needs about 65 amps so i'm getting my alt. redone. so would 205 amp alt. cover the load? and what should my total ground amp. total be on the big three?

poppycock the welding cables are fine and some very loud folks prefer them (not to mention 10 out of 10 welders prefer them)
