Whats a good amp for me?

Hi, I recently got new speakers and a sub box for christmas, and now im looking to buy an amp. I am not sure on the brands, but i have two 5 inch speakers and 2 tweaters with 2 cross overs, (im not the smartest about these things, thats why im here) the box says "clif designs px525C" so i guess that could be the brand, and the sub box is two 10 inch speakers, the only brand i can see on the box is "samra" so if that tells you anything then ok, its 900 total watts. I have about 250-300 dollars to spend, but something cheaper would be nice, and i would like to get something good with quite a bit of power... so what do you guys think would be the best for my set up?

Like you said, if you don't know enough about it, take what you got to a qualified installer who can sell you an amp and do the install.

Looks like you got some stuff from xscargo
http://www.shopxscargo.com/product_catalogue/cat_product_details.asp?category_id=6&product_code =21896&sub_category_1_id=11&category=Car%20Audio

I would think that you probably don't need an amp to run the fronts (above 5.25's) as your deck (do you have one?) should be able to power these.

For the sub box, I'll venture to guess that pretty much ANY amp will do as long as it says 300w on the box. This should not be hard to find, since as you know from hopefully reading a few other threads on here manufacturers like to hype up their stuff with peak numbers which mean not much in everyday use.

Thank you guys, yes im pretty sure it was from xscargo, im sorry i didnt know much about them, it was a christmas gift so i wasn't sure, but yes im pretty sure it is from there. I was looking on the internet to find some amps for sale, possibly some cheap for boxing day, i found a lot at future shop heres the link http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/class.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=1103

would any of those be good ones to get for the price?

alot say like 300 amps and stuff, but since i dont know much about amps, the bigger the number makes it sound better to me, but maybe you guys could give me a few options on some that are of good quality from there, that may be a possibility. i appreciate the help, thanks.

Actually those CD component set's aren't too bad at all. They would, like any other speaker, benefit from an amp. The sub box, IIRC has a final 4ohm load and since you have been looking at FS, this amp would do a decent job of powering all of them.

It won't win you any trophys, but it will sound pretty nice, and the amp should last long enough to carry you thru a few upgrades down the road.

If you aren't sure how to do the install, you should take the speakers and your car to someone who does. The people at FS will probably give you a decent rate on installing all of it, especially if you buy that amp there.

Keep in mind that if you plan on keeping the car for a long time, installing it right the first time will pay off in the long run. Get some Dynamat or similar product put in the front doors where the components are mounted to help cut down on vibration and road noise. You don't need to go nuts with it, a single layer makes a big difference in the sound. Get an amp install kit with at least 4ga power and ground wire, it may be overkill for that amp now, but you can add another amp later without re-doing it and that saves $$$!

Above all, when it's done, enjoy the tunes!!

It's all about the music in the long run......

Thank you very much for your help, i appreciate it a lot, i am not sure how to do the installation so i was going to get it done for me, i dont know if you know the store but i called a place called west coast customs, and they said the installation would be around 250 for the sub box and speakers... is this a good price? do you think future shop would be better for it?
With the amp install kit, if i bought one, could i just give it to the people who are installing it? how much does it cost? and umm, whats 4ga power mean lol.

this really helps alot thank you guys, otherwise id be really lost at this point lol.

Get the install done wherever you buy the amp....it will help keep the total cost down. That quote seems a little high to me, unless it includes the wiring kit.....

4ga refers to the size of the wire that will carry the power from your battery to the amp in your trunk....bigger is always better, but the 4ga will be enough for the amp mentioned earlier as well as a second one of roughly the same power level.
