I have mine in a sealed box just under 1 cu ft and it runs great at 1000 rms. It's been like that daily for almost a year. It's the newer dvc running at 2 ohms on a Visonik V900XD.

A Type R will take 1000wrms without a doubt, DAILY! Proper tuning and box MUST be taken into consideration though...

I have 800rms running on mine and it slams...

Hmmm don't think so as Towman already showed a daily 1000Wrms Type R. And it released the magic smoke. Maybe its due to the ported box. I would say its safe to say in a sealed box upto 1000Wrms but be careful and in a ported 750Wrms maybe

I agree smart ***, more power would be better for a sealed box, although i am running 800watts RMS for a week now in my ported box, and its been fine, i just make sure I'm not playing it too hard for long periods/listen to how the sub is playing.

Obviously it is the sealed box holding it together for me. I had a solo L7 that was a dual 2 ohm coil so I ran it at 1 ohm 1500 rms and it didn't last a week before the smoke show but it was ported.....same amp.

That's not even the same woofer that's in question here. Towman popped the crappy the 300watt model. The 300watt and 500watt models are nothing alike.
