Wiring 2 subs to amp, plz help!!
Hello.
i need help on hooking up my subs to an amp
I have 2 500 watt 4 ohms subs in a sub box that i bought and the outlet on it has one red and one black terminal for two subwoofers. My amp is an MTX MXA4001. on it, it has 4 area's too hook up the sub wires. on top of the first 2 holes it says speaker 1, under that it says - 4ohms +. and it also says the same thing on top of the other two holes but says speaker 2.
now on the bottom of all four holes it says 2ohms, and a line leading to the first and last holes for the sub wires with - and +.
now for the subs that i wired was i connected the neg of the first sub to the neg of the 2nd sub and same with the positive to the positive of the 2nd sub, then i ran a wire connected to the positive and negative wire of subs to the outlet of the box and theirs only two terminals on it, positive and neg. hope you can understand that.
but anyways, im confused on how i would connect the 2 outlet sub wires to the amp for best performance without blowing it. I did this once before but its been awhile for me.

because you have your subs hooked up in parallel and they are 4 Ohm subs the amplifier will see a 2 Ohm load you need to wire it accordingly to set the amp up in 2 Ohm mode. hook the subs Pos. to Pos. of speaker 1 on amp and subs Neg To Neg. of speaker 2 on amp. same as bridging on a four channel amp
