10 inch SVC Alpine TYPE R
I bought a 10 inch Single Voil Coil Alpine Type R in a sealed box. I need help with a few things.
First, is the specs for this sub!!! Since a SVC Alpine TYPE R is not common, finding specs are impossible. Does anyone have the specs for this sub? I believe it handles 300-350rms.
Second, I'd like to either bulid or buy a box that would match this sub. If someone could tell me measurements to bulid a box or tell me about a box sold in stores that would match the sub.
Side note: I have another thread that relates to this.

if I can fix that amp and if I can get some feedback thats it's a good amp then I want to use that amp for this sub

Hey this was all I could find about that sub
Its an Alpine SWR-1040 Type-R
Product Features
RMS Power Rating (Watts): 25+ watts
Size (Diameter) in mm: 250
Diameter (mm): 250
Speakers Format: Round
System/Single Speaker: Single Speaker
Wattage: 600
Year of Introduction: 2000
A friend of mine has a pair of those subs before and IIRC he had them in a sealed enclosure with 1.2 cubic ft for each chamber and they sounded awesome. He did try them in a ported but I remember the EBP (EBP = Fs / Qes) was low for this sub i think around 45 and that being said it sounded way better in a sealed box.
As for your amp well I dont really know what to tell you other than take it in for repair or if your good with a tester electronics then start checking the internal components.
Hope this helps

Thanks man for the info it helped. I found this link with the model number you gave me
http://www.carreview.com/cat/car-audio/subwoofers/alpine/PRD_54272_1808crx.aspx
In the first review, the guy says that it's rated at 300watts, which I'm guessing is RMS.
The sub box It came with was a sealed bassworx box and I measured the the box to find the volume and I calculated it at around .67 cu ft. As of right now when I tried the sub out with my Sony amp it didn't even come close to pounding as hard my Jensen's. I found that the sub is not air tight because I pushed on the sub and I can feel air wooshing out where the sub makes contact to the sub box. This is why I think it's not sounding right lol
Also, the wire that connects the sub terminals to the sub box terminals are as small as 16 AWG, maybe 14 AWG. Would that reduce performance of the sub? I want to put 4 AWG wire inside the box so that I run 4 AWG from battery power terminal to amp, amp to sub box terminals, box terminals to sub terminals. Is this a good idea or I'm I just wasting my money?
I believe that the alpine should out perform my Jensen's but as right now, doens't look like it is Why?
