Since I am Using this in my house is there a possibility of building it out of hardwood plywood??? For looks Or would that be a bad idea, Also consider I dont have easy transport of MDF so If it doesnt make that big a difference then Id go PLy as its readily available to order through school

They usually use Baltic Birch for home boxes if they are to be made of plywood, but like toddy said if they can get ply they can probably get MDF, and that will save some $.

I asked and he said he has to get it froma diff supplier, so it willtake a while, and its not worth it for 1 or 2 sheets, sounds corny to me :S Maybe Ill have totell him its mandatory. But If not Ill try to find some "Baltic Birch" Any reasononing behind "BALTIC BIRCH" use??

Thumbs up Finally!

So after a few months(ok maybe more then a few) I finished the box, I havent needed to sand it down or anything as Its just sitting nicely in my room, It pounds quite hard and the amp definitely underpowers it! I will make a video soon hopefully. The vent is a 4" PVC pipe, I will be closing up the hole and moving down to a 3" pipe so I can make it shorter with the same tunning. Just hoping port mach isnt to loud! :O hahaha the box is big enough to compensate for some of the moving air so It should be fine. Tell me what you think. I am also rnning a crossover going to the amp and cuts out all highs about 160 give or take some that are tunning to the sub channel. If anybody wants to take this box of my hands for a decent price let me know as I am planning on making a box that is 16x34x22 box for my moms sunfire. should fit perfectly into the trunk and hopefully it pounds

Hope everybodies summer is going great and all your builds are coming out nicely. Once I get my wiring kit, it would be nice to meet someone who has better knowledge of wiring and interiors who could help me out with install Email is m-dvorak@live.com

That box looks small for 5+ cubes.and why did you mount them 90* from each other.

Shoved into the corner of the room the reinforcement would be substantial.....personally I do HT boxes with the sub pointing forward and the port or second driver facing the floor.....

It is 6.1 give or take about .2 ft^3

22"x22"x22" internal measurement MINUS the subs.

22x2

I would have preffered building abox that took roughly one short section of wall in the corner and building it 7ft high 30" out and 6 ft wide. Would be the ultimate box. Might be a bit awkward to get in and out of the room though. xP specially if it was made out of 1" mdf, MINIMUM.

Anybody know of a high excursion driver that you would recommend for home theatre. That is somewhat cheap.. =D

By the way, this is mostly used for music. I find that it produces a much clearer and loud sound when both subs are aimed directly at the wall with roughly 1 foot of space.
