Bassworx box

I blew a seem on my last box (Bassworx truck box) and now have to buy a new one because it sounds like crap. Unfortunately I don't have time or know how to build my own otherwise I would be all over that.

So I'm looking for some advice on which one to buy, looks like I have to get another Bassworx which kinda pissed me off, but I'm gettin a friends staff discount on it so its alright...

The models are a SLR212 or HPR212G.

If your too lazy to click the links I also posted pics

The car is a 97 Civic 4 door sedan if it helps,

THANKS!!!!

You could probably have a custom box built by someone close to you, for less than you'd pay for either one of those. At least worth looking into. Check out Thumpper's Pound That Sound website...

You might be able to have one made for $125 that is tuned to your liking, and it built with techniques that make it more structurally sound.

the first one is good if your subs dont have structural noise when reverse. second sounds allright for what it is but you will never be happy until you get a custom box.

And I will build you one as well. I also stock the Bassworx high output dual slot port 12" box, it is on sale for $100 right now. Future Shop and Madam Mckay's do not get this enclosure.

How did you damage the last box, was it mounted or floating around in the trunk?

I like to see the islanders here , unfortunately I moved to Port Coquitlam (need to update my profile thinger)...How much would one of you be able to build me a good quality, ported box for roughly?? As I would way rather a custom box if I can afford it. I go back to the island alot so that wouldn't be a problem...

I honestly couldn't tell you why my last box went...it never got wet, and it was secured in my truck (The stereo started off in a 91 F250). Madman installed it in the truck and about a month later one of the two mounting brackets sheered off so I wedged it in there tightly with a blanket, kept it from moving. After a while I heard the rattle but thought it was just the metal from the cab or somethin. So I've lost any confidence I had in Bassworx now (lasted about 3 months).... Anyways its floatin in the trunk now because I figure its wrecked anyways....

If the mounting brackets sheered off then something is up with how the vehicle is being used..... Unless you are fully prepared to have a box overbuilt and mounted PROPERLY, expect it to happen again with any box.

Most guys use el cheapo l brackets to secure them in, good for about a week and then they rip out and all sorts of problems happen after that. A good box is going to cost some $ and then the labour to properly mount it if you cannot do so yourself.

The L brackets were the ones I was talking about, and these were the cheapest of the cheap. Like you say the one lasted about a week, after that I jimmy rigged it and it was snug. I'm not sure what you meant "If the mounting brackets sheered off then something is up with how the vehicle is being used", maybe talking about different brackets?
