I need to build a sealed box for 2 12" KP. They will be powered by a Sundown 1000D (600w @ 2ohm).

This will go in the back of a 05 Durango, the manufacturer spec recommended volume of 1 ft/cu (including displacement).

Should i go with recommended or go a bit bigger/smaller?

With that power, I'd go 20% bigger if space is no issue, as 300 watts per sub may not be much to move them suckers, so a bigger box would increase the efficiency and you could always turn down the gain if the box is too big, as that way you will even marginally increase on SQ. I think you're knowledgable enough yourself to make an educated guess...
