Box Build. Looking for some answers.

Alrighty.......I'm building 2 ported box's for my friends car. He got 2 10" JBL subs. I want to put them in seperate boxes. What size of box (Cubic inch) do you recommend for a 10 inch sub? What volume?
I tried the JBL website but I couldn't find any info on how big they recommend for their subwoofers. Is there like a standard volume?
Also a question about tuning the box to a certain hertz. Around 30 hz is more quality and around 40hz is more bass? Or do i have that backwards?
Any help appreciated.

This is my first box build. Building it will be the easy part, as i have been a cabinet maker for quite some time now....i just need to get the measurements and stuff worked out.

Thanks
