Building an SQ box, some questions.
I will be building an SQ box for 1 12" Orion HCCA sub with 800watts going to it. I want to use a box suggested by Orion. It is ported, 2.25 cu.ft. 4" diameter port, 12" long, tuned to 33Hz. It will be going in the hatchback of a 1987 Mustang. The port sounds kinda small, do you think there will be port noise? Also which way should I have the port firing? Towards the back or front of the car? Thanks in advance.

I agree with Dukk...that vent is way too small. I've tried that "SQ" enclosure recommended by Orion...it didn't perform at all. I ended up building another enclosure...2.25cf, 33Hz tuning with 40 sq in of port. But you might be able to get away with 24 sq in of port, but I wouldn't go too much smaller than that with 800 watts. Use a slot port...it'll be much easier fitting the port.
