Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab Enclosure for 2 18's?

Hey guys I'm planning on 2 RE sx18's for my truck. I sketched this design up but I'm a complete noob and would like for someone that knows their stuff to let me know if it will work or can point me in the right direction. The subs require 5.5 - 8 cubic feet. I want a nasty low playing bass!

This is the truck they will go in. I will be removing my rear seats for most amount of room I can get. I have about 64" wide x 26" from back wall to my seat in the current position but I could scoot up a bit, and 24" from back floor to the rear window line. I could go over the line but want to be able to see out the back still.

The plan is to have the subs facing up and the port shooting right between the seats.

If you need more info please let me know and I would enjoy working with someone who knows whats up!

Thanks!

and the box I sketched up which puts me like 5" over my rear window line already but I could do without that thick baffle?

For best performance you want your port on the baffle with the subs. I run 2 18's myself and my baffle is 5" thick. Keep the baffle as you have it. You'll want to completely resin the whole internal area of your box and flare the port opening as well and round over the port in the box Be sure to brace the box internally to.

Alright I was afraid that was the case too but I spent all that time sketching it. I will just flip the port and see what happens. Do I have the right Idea for the port? 6" wide so its 6 inches away from the back of the box? If you could point me to a place to learn up on it I would appreciate it.

I'm not totally sure because the re calculator only has a single L port so I just doubled the numbers. Trying to get it to 34 hz per the recommended specs from re. That is what I really need help with, the math for correct volume and port tuning.

I listen to a little of everything from Pop, Rap, Bass songs, Dubstep and sometimes even country and rock. I usually play whatever pounds the hardest or sounds the cleanest. Also I am currently running an alpine IDA-X305s with the imprint PXA-H100 with alpine type r SPR-60c components in the door amped by a JL JX360/4 bridged.

One quick question. Can I put the Clarion 7 band eq before the imprint for finer tuning? I figure if I just have everything set @ 0db when I tune then I could mess with the EQ after. Seems like it should work but I really don't know that much yet.. still learning.

Thanks for the info and I will be re sketching a box per your help via PM's which I am very thankful for!

Peace

I personally would not use the Clarion EQ whatsoever, use the settings on your Alpine to fine tune the system. Adding more products can add more problems if something goes haywire in the system. When you have a lot of bass in a system this can cause structural damage to a vehicle (breaking factory welds, loosening of window glass, factory plastic cracking, etc etc ) this can destroy equipment as well. Been there done that.

So 2 18's could possibly destroy my truck o.0 dayum. I have been searching craigslist for a bass mobile like a tahoe or something with more room and then I would not care so much about breaking stuff. I like my truck and don't want to destroy it! Its a 2007 with 25k miles. If I were to completely second skin and luxory liner pro the interior would it help from bad damage? I suppose window seals can always be replaced but when you say factory welds thats kind of scary lol.

Yes sound deadening is a great thing to do and will help with the bass as well, now when I said welds can break that can happen when your system gets over 155db. A truck is built stronger and can handle more so I'm quite confident you won't break welds, plus your not going strictly SPL, you'll be fine (LOL)
