Going light... Fibreglass box?
I was just curious, a fibre glass box I know is lighter then a MDF made box but is there any difference in sound? I am tinking about making or getting a generic box made to replace my current MDF box to reduce some weight in my car.... Is there a huge sound difference?

Fiberglass gains stregth in curves so making flat walls from it is a no no. If you have flat parts you can lay down a few dowels before you glass. This will make ridges that will add a lot of strength. Depending on how you make it they can be quite light when compared to the same size in MDF.

We build a lot of fiberglass boxes and wood boxes are a bit louder but you can still make a fiberglass box pound. Make your frame out off wood and stretch your shape and add ateast 4 layers of glass, the more the better. If you need someone to build it, we can do it for or if you want some tips on doing it yourself, shoot me a message.
