Heed help with new box Design

I Figured i would get get a head start on revamping my set up for summer, witch means i'll need a bigger box. I've ordered another 2 12" 2ohm R Type's and i would like a ported box that does them Justice. Im not happy with my sealed box that visions made me so i'll take matters into my own hands. The picture is the basic design i had in mind, the port will go through a back seat middle armrest to port the box into the cabin. The dimentions on the picture are the Max that i can go. i would like to be tuned around 34-36hz if possible.
We'll Tell me what you think Any help would really rock

Thanks guys.

first off the box is wayyy too big. Also it seems to indicate this is a trunk car. Please don't forget that if it is the box has to fit through the hole in the trunk unless you want to assemble it in the trunk (which is a huge pain) so if you plan to get it in there you gotta make it smaller but regardless of that its too big for 4 12s anyway. I would do no larger than 8 cubic feet for the 4 subs

a box like this in a trunk car will REALLY REALLY suck *****.

plus, its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big.

IF anything i would just totally (or almost) cut out the rear deck and port thru that with a nice, large, wide port.

that box you drew with that port will be tuned to something very low. with only 5 inches of port area it will act more like an air leak in a large sealed box.

Why not save some cash and build a proper ported box for your 2 subs before you spend cash on more drivers?

that design would sound like azz...seriously

don't fall under the illusion of four subs stuffed tight
into a trunk will blowing your mind...if all 4 subs are running
with to little of port area and skimmpy inner volume you will
just end up with 4X the sound you do not want

you are far better off with a proper ported enclosure with
two woofers..it would get lower, louder and hit harder

You're probably going to see better results if you build a ported box that fires toward the back of the car. You could also build the port firing into the cabin if you want to experiment.

yeah ive had a box with a port through the armrest too..it was bandpass so all the sound would be going through and not just the air from the port. just dont **** up a bandpass or it sounds like

I would build a good 2 woofer ported enclosure and have it pulled
right to the rear of the car forward firing....
you can have the center armrest down with passengers and when the
rear seat is empty you can open it all up..fold the seats down

the sound would be un reflected and clean....you would be sitting
about 5 or 6 feet in front of the subs line of fire and it would hit
really good

the design you noted above would have in sufficient port area
and up firing subs in a trunk really suck *****
