How thick for a baffle

How thick for a baffle

So I wanted to got you guys input on how thick your baffle should be. I have read that to thick not not good for spl. I can make mine 5" thick but not sure if this is to thick so just wanted to get some input. Thanks guys

5"? that would be pretty thick haha in my opinion. depending on the weight of your sub and how you are installing it (vertical, inverted, horizontal) you would need different thicknesses, but 5" is pretty thick haha, try doubling up some 3/4" MDF maybe, that could be pretty strong IMO.

... 5 should be good, recess the subs in 1 layers, then round the back of the baffle out.

its an SPL build, and if ur gonna keep that loading wall there ur gonna need a strong baffle and stronger loading wall. still think u shoulda gone with a normal flat wall tho

i'm only running 3 layer 3/4" and mats got 2 layer, but ours are daily builds

my no wall box ended up at 5" and it's perfect. No resonance at all. The total height of the interior is 21". My guess is you could get away with about a 4-5 foot square without issues.
