JL HO box change sub?????

I have a HO with a 10w7 in it .I was wondering if a sub with dual 2 or 4 ohm will work in it ? I have a AG 750 running the HO and want to run a better suited sub for my amp .But the HO box fit perfectly so I would rather change the sub then the box .Any help ? TIA .PAt

You need to know what the internal volume of your H.O. enclosure is. After that just about any sub that performs in that environment will do.

Thats just the info for the sub. They don't tell you much about their enclosures. You would have to remove the sub, measure and make your own calculations.

JL is pretty secretive about the boxes, I would just get the JL box.

Seeing as you already have the box and sub, you'll just have to pull the sub and measure the volume. Once you have that, you can start shopping for what's compatible with that volume. I'm not sure you'll be very happy with the results, as the output will probably be slightly greater...maybe 3db's if you double the power...but given that jl has already engineered their ho boxes to maximize performance...you may end up with less output, and worse sq.

So i guess i would be better off getting a JL amp to run it at 3ohm's .Then changing the sub itself .
