Need dimensions for new sub enclosure.

Well hello, i just bought 2 Orion P15D2. And want to have a good box but i also want to do it myself except the demensions of the box having a good amount of trouble with it lol. In case you are wondering its going in a 1992 Ford Explorer. So got room to play with the dimensions i want to keep it within are 41"x18-19". I want this box sealed aswell.

Highlighted in green. Also using a 1600watt 4ch Boss amp and a 4gauge amp kit in case you need to know.

Thanks to anyone that does this for me it is greatly appreciated.

Thumbs up

According to Orion's specs, Outside dims of 37.5" X 18" X 14" will get you in the zone for the sealed box.

This also allows for a brace between the 2 woofers...........either as a divider between the subs or cut out to form a common chamber box.

Personally I would port those puppies......around 6cubes tuned to 32hz will rattle the teeth right out of your head......

LOL that's a crazy big box but i agree with him^^^ it will damage something...if not your head...something lol! Just make it as space efficient as possible. That way you will still have a bit of a trunk area. However, 6 cubes isn't small lol. Either way a rear firing box with ports facing the roof would be best if you could pull it off. Good luck either way!

Listen to this man he knows what he is talking about. ^^^^ He just spent 2 hours helping me tune my system, and it now sounds like a whole new system. Twice as loud and much clearer. If he says ported will be louder believe him. I have only 2x10" and 300 watts and my car pounds like crazy.
Thanks again and BTW how was the steak sandwich?

Thanks for the props.....it was fun bringing it to life. Of course, 300w per side into your comps makes it easy to get midbass up front.....

The sandwich was great.......been a long time since I had a Philly cheese steak..... the eye candy in that place is pretty good too.....

BTW, if you want to do a ported box for your 10s let me know.....the benefits would work for you too.....before you upgrade anything else ($$$$) ...like your amps.....

I hope you're talking about 2 different boxes........putting 2 drivers in different types of enclosures in the car at the same time is not good.....

If so, build the ported one first.....do it right and you won't care about the sealed box anymore......
